Once Again

Yesterday, I finished reading 'Tell Me Your Dreams' by Sidney Sheldon. It's quite interesting because the main character,Ashley Patterson, have the so-called 'Multiple Personality Disorder', a.k.a MPD and she doesn't know about it.

Ashley was linked to three horrifying murders- three guys that were stabbed to death and castrated. Her alters were Toni Prescott and Alette Peters, born in London and Rome, respectively. These two were born out of hatred and fear because when she(Ashley) was young, her own father molested her. He came to her bedroom almost every night and ask her to 'make love' to him(such a horrible monster)! And because of trauma, Ashley had an amnesia and forgot the things her dad did to her.

When they went to London, Ashley was six then, Toni was born(out of hatred). She liked singing and playing the piano but her mother hated her way of singing. After two years, they moved to Rome and Alette was born. This girl loved to paint. She loved everything Rome has: museum, paintings, sculptures and others.

To make it short, Ashley was convicted guilty of first degree murder but her lawyer somehow managed to record how aggresive and rude the dominating alter,Toni, was. Toni was actually the one who committed those horrifying murders not Ashley. She did it when the guys start to make love to her.When they had sex, Toni remembered the dirty things her father .

Even though the verdict was already given by the jury, Judge Williams, upon watching the video, decided to send Ashley a psychiatric hospital to treat her MPD. There she finally met her alters, Toni and Alette. The doctors at the start found it difficult to commnunicate with her alters especially Toni. But then, eventually those two accepted to 'unite' with Ashley and they become one.
